Turps Substitute
A hydrocarbon solvent suitable for general cleaning purposes and brush cleaning.
Methylated Spirit
Can be used as fuel for cooking and heating, or as a solvent. It is a de-natured alcohol and manufactured from virgin materials which gives it a clean burning flame. It contains a purple dye and can be used as a thinner in Button Polishes, French Polishes and Patent Knotting.
White Spirit
A solvent suitable for general cleaning purposes, brush cleaning and paint thinning. Also suitable for as a general surface cleaner in preparation for further coats of varnish or paint. Conforms to BS 245.
